Description: (A) Table. A square-top golden oak table made with box-style legs attached to arches with applied carving trimmed in brass. There is a matching set of legs used to support any table extensions. The apron surrounding the top also includes scroll-applied carvings with brass trim.
Size: The table top without leaves: 48 x 48 inches; height: 30 1/2 inches.
(B-E) Chairs, set of four. Unusual-styled golden oak chairs. The upper crest of each chair has an applied carving in an Art Nouveau style. The front legs are supported by claw feet. The chair seats are partially upholstered with brown leather matching the original upholstery, secured by brass studs.
Size: L-38 x W-17 1/2 x D-17 1/2 inches.
(F) Leaves. Set of seven golden oak leaves.

History of Object: A dining room set that was specifically purchased new to harmonize
with the existing woodwork in the dining room. After receiving the donation of this set, the Alameda Museum removed the fabric seats from the four chairs to find the deteriorating original leather upholstery. The leather and the upholstery tacks were matched successfully by Luque Upholstery, Park St., Alameda, when the chairs were reupholstered..
