HISTORY OF OBJECT: LETTERS ADDRESSED TO JOSEPH CONRAD, CHIEF OF POLICE, CITY OF ALAMEDA, FROM THE 1890'S TO 1900. LETTERS PERTAINING TO MISSING PEOPLE, CRIMES, ETC., ARE INCLUDED. SOME CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDES ATTACHED "MUG SHOTS."
