On the front in on an imprinted metal plate ‘Royal’. Model number: KMM-2511685. Size (incl. roller): L (depth) 14” x W 15 1/2” x H 9” History of Object: typewriter from the home of Albert Willard Broughton, used in his years working his way up from clerk to vice president of Title Insurance and Trust Company. The model number dates this machine to c. 1940, more than 10 years before Al started on his career, suggesting both the strength of this design, and a history before Al brought it to his home where it was used by the family.
