Waffle iron signed with raised cast lettering stating "American No. 8, Patt. No. 151, Griswold, The Griswold Mfg. Co., Erie, Pa,, U.S.A., Pat'd- July 11, 1922." Size: H-5 x L-17 inches. History of Object: old-time stove-heated waffle iron which originally belonged to Mr. & Mrs. Donald McLean of Bay Street. Mr. McLean’s mother was a daughter of James Millington, pioneer carpenter & City Clerk of Alameda. Mr. Millington & wife, Lydia, settled here in the early 1850's.
