Accession No. 12.6.18 Subject Category: City of Alameda; Transportation Date or Period: 1945-1946 Object: File Folder Description: Acid-free legal size manila folder with correspondence and various maps featuring different ‘Proposed Locations for 2nd Estuary Tube’ Size folder L 14 3/4” x W 9” History of Object: Papers found in the attic of City Hall, in a folder (discarded in 2011), which had a tab label stating: ‘Transportation - Tube -Post Washington Trip - June 1945’. The maps also show the location of now disappeared NAS Civilian Housing streets between Mitchell Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, and Webster: Alywin Court, Bainbridge, Gibbs, George, Tynan, Tinker, Andrews, and Weaver Ave (most running SE to NW), and Tunnel, Wadsworth, Colin Kelly, Walker, and Corkille Streets.
