History of Object: photocopy of an article that appeared on page 43 of the Oakland Tribune of Sunday June 14. 1914, describing the intended dedication ceremony, planned for June 17, of a memorial in Lincoln Park to acknowledge the presence of the Native American mound, which was leveled to lay tracks for the Oakland Traction company, and identifying some of the individuals to take part; Ishi, of a local Native American tribe, Mrs. Gillogly and Mrs. Wright of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayor Otis, Alfred Morgenstern of the [City’s] recreation commission, and Dr. T.
