Acc. No. 19.30.1 Subject Category: Household furnishings Date or Period: c. Early 1900's Object: Cradle Description: A suspended rocking cradle on a stand with machine carved legs. In its construction it has single slot iron screws. Both the head and back are fabricated out of steam pressed supports attached to the body frame of the cradle. The ends and sides have lathe-turned rungs. It is constructed of a possible combination of maple and oak, and it appears to be American-made in the last quarter of the 19" Century. Size: H-37 x L-40 x W-21 inches. History of Object: A swinging wooden cradle dating back to the late 19th Century. It was used by an Alameda family prior to being given to the Testa family of Alameda for use by their children from 1904 to 1923. Donated by the daughter of the last child to use this cradle.
