No. 21.71.3 Subject Category: Citizens of Alameda / Homes of Alameda Date or Period: c. 1920 Object: nightgown Description: mint-green satin sleeveless nightgown with scalloped hemline and a narrow band of gold-colored lace at hem and armholes, and elaborate gold lace inset at center front connecting to collar, which lace has pink and blue lace leaves. Lace-up ribbon closure with reversible salmon and mint-green silk ribbon; wider ribbon of the same style is pulled through two loops at the waist. Has a sewn-on pocket on the right side with similar lace and ribbon decorations, with a flower rosette with pink flower buds of unknown material. History of Object: found in the attic of 2153-2155 Central, and donated to the museum in 2016. It is unknown who the original wearer of this nightgown was.
