Description: Park style bench consisting of wrought iron legs and back support upon which is attached horizontal wooden slats. The seat has 5 slats and 2 slats are attached to the back, the upper slat being the widest of the two. The bench painted a deep green color has been painted throughout the years, however the donor states that it was painted the same as the original color. Size: L - 60 x H 30 1/2 X D - 16 inches. History of Object: The donor purchased this park bench, possibly in 1934, when the contents of the California Training Home for Girls was sold. The girls reformatory was formerly known as the Kohlmoos Hotel, Linden St., and Lincoln Ave., the present site of Longfellow Park. Acquired from: Mary Ellen Eggers (Deceased April 3, 1995).
