No. 21.17.1 Subject Category: Citizens of Alameda Date or Period: 1950s Object: Cooler Description: Brigt red metal box, slightly bowed with widest point at about three-quarters from the top, with inner galvanized liner, with bright red lid with lengthwise grip, a galvanized metal plug with partial chain, and aluminum tray fitting on to the edge of the galvanized box with curled sides. Embossed and painted white on the two long sides are the words: 'Drink Coca-Cola in Bottles', with in small black (not embossed) letters: 'Trade-Mark R'. Embossed, without paint, is: 'Product of CAVALIER, Cavalier Corporation, Chattanooga, Tennessee'. A cap-puller is attached to one side, with two mounting screws, and embossed, red-painted 'Drink Coca Cola' on top, and imprinted with 'Starr-X, Patent 2333088, Brown Co., N. News, VA'. Inside has an odd orange-colored stain. One corner has a dent, and there are various minor scratches, and some paint loss on the cap opener. Size: (Overall): 18"X13"X18".
