Size folders: L 14 3/4” X W 9” History of Object: File folders with documents reflecting - mostly - unrealized plans. A. 1932: Correspondence and decisions regarding property owned by A.E.J. Duchesnay, including an updated blueprint for a proposed ‘Aquatic Park’, and public beach, complaints about sand blowing from Duchesnay’s property to neighboring houses, switch of property between the City and Duchesnay to create a uniform width for Otis Drive, Roosevelt Dr., and Park Ave; and adjusting of U.S. Bulkhead Line in the Bay to match the property line. City Manager, Ralph M. Bryant, City Engineer, Burnett Hamilton. B. 1919: Coroner’s letter and reports and newspaper clippings pertaining to the death of Lillian M. Blewer and Joseph George Reichling, in an unexpectedly deep ‘hole’ near Neptune Beach. The coroner advised signs, and possibly fill it with sand. City Manager Charles E. Hewes and City Engineer C. E. Hickok rowed around to hole to investigate. C. 1941: Unsolicited proposal by S.F. Architects Kent & Hass for the Neptune Beach Property / Washington Park expansion. Includes photo of drawing of proposed plan. D. 1925: Exploration of a beach expansion to Lincoln Park towards the East shore, since the City owned part of the land. However, the owner of the last stretch to the shore, Sadie M. Crawford, did not wish to sell. E. 1939: Folder with two pieces of paper; one a letter to City Manager Schwanenberg from C. C. Howard, Building Contractor, on stationery featuring 1541-1547 Santa Clara (Stonehenge / Stoneleigh Court), suggesting he would lease land ‘near the car shops’ and improve it; 3 propositions or ideas, including a ferry direct to the PPIE.
