History of Object:
Ledger book containing poems, etc. handwritten in elaborate script by Andrew Jacobsen Fisher (student of penmanship). Mr. Fisher was born in Denmark-September 29, 1853 and came to San Francisco, August 16, 1871. A sailmaker by trade, he founded the firm of Simpson & Fisher, S.F. They later moved operations to Oakland where the company existed for over one hundred years. Mr. Fisher settled in Alameda in the 1870's and was a pioneer resident.
