Two-page program with illustrated cover. Cover has drawing of the main façade of the Alameda Theatre in brown-colored type on a tan-colored background.

History:
Program given to the donor, John Love, born 1918, as he entered during the dedication of the new Alameda Theatre, Tuesday evening, August 16, 1932. Program issued by the Nasser Brothers, the original owners, includes the list of attractions to be shown that evening, including the movie, “Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farms”. At the dedication there was an address made by the Honorable James Ralph, Jr., Governor of the State of California and the Honorable William F. Murray, Mayor of Alameda.
The Love family came to Alameda around 1882. John Love's grandfather, John Thomas Love, was a carpenter on Alcatraz Island and subsequently came to Alameda and worked as a carpenter on the Linderman Opera House, corner of Park Avenue and Central, which was erected in 1893 and destroyed by fire in 1897.
