Description: A loose leaf binder-type scrapbook with a cover of heavy brown colored paper stock with black colored buckram binding and an open spine that is pierced and threaded with a shoelace-style cord that secures the contents and the cover.

History of Object: A scrapbook of newspaper clippings, some illustrated that was compiled by Annie J. Ward. The clippings all pertain to the history of California. These clippings and articles are from newspapers as well as magazines. The scrapbook was begun in 1918 and completed circa 1930.
