Description:
Acid free legal size file folder, with documents, which have handwritten numbers, in what appears to be watered down fountain pen ink, on the back, as well as a stamp, stating ‘Filed’, a date, and “F. E. Browning”; in some cases the stamp has additionally: “CITY CLERK OF ALAMEDA”. Numbers range from 1501 to 1550.

Miscellaneous documents from / to the council and/or mayor of Alameda, started during tenure of City Clerk F.E. Browning (with later additions), found in the attic of City Hall during remodeling in the 1990s. Documents were filed by City Secretary or Clerk, F.E. Browning. Period is 1909-1912.
Documents include a search abstract relating to opening of streets in the Tract of land owned by Emilie G. Cohen (1534); Electric Light plants (1504, 1505, 1507), streetwork (various), legal advice by the city attorney whether the city has the right to decide on prices of telegraph deliveries (1535); petition and plans to build a dock off the North End of Grand Street (1547);
