Description:
It is a pyramid shaped wooden box. It has a hinged lid with two brass hook and eyes for locking. It has a collapsible handle on the lid. And affixed to the lid are: 1. clay pipe, 2. brass insignia type letters, 3. whiskey bottle seal and chain embossed in German silver, 4. brass plated cuff link.
Size: Base: 16" by 10 * high, by depth 6".
History Of Object: Odds and ends owned by Captain Robert D. Trudgett. He was in World War I. His boat was captured by the Germans and he was imprisoned for eight months. He lived in Alameda twenty-nine years and died here. The sextant from this box cannot be found. Museum collection from Miss Caroline Potter, Washington School.
