Size folder: L 14 3/4” X W 9” History of Object: Documents found in the attic of City Hall, prior to renovations. These documents were originally held together with a metal clip in a folder, discarded in 2011, with a green label on the tab stating: “Bridges - Fruitvale Ave 1934-1942”. Documents pertain to haggling over responsibility of the maintenance of the bridge, between the County and City of Alameda, including a history as described by the Southern Pacific Company (October 6, 1937). 1939-1942 shows further attempts by the County to cease operation, and subsequent involvement of the War Department.
