Description: Hard bound ledger with brown leather cover trimmed in wine colored leather, accentuated with gold. Wording burned into cover "Building Contracts". Spine of book has typed label "Building Permits". Entries written by hand in pencil.
Size: 21½x17 inches, 2 inches thick.
History of Object: Delinquent Assessment Book, City of Alameda, dated 1907 (book was never used for original purpose), used to record building permits, 1910 to 1934. City broken into Assessors block numbers, and new construction, alterations, garages, porches, etc., recorded.
