History of Object: Photographic postcard depicting the exterior (main facade) of 1409 Caroline Street, Alameda. The house was rented by the donor's parents who had left San Francisco following the earthquake & fire of 1906. It was here that the donor (Helene Ames) was born in 1907. Pictured in front of the house is Harding (changed to Robert) Ames (born S.F.-1900) brother of Helene.
