History of Object: Wooden peel, for placing bread inside a brick oven, and removing the bread from the oven after baking. Used in the Hofmann's Bakery at 918 Central Ave, in operation between 1911 and 1974. A peel like this can be seen on the photo cataloged as 24.47.3.
