History of Object: Newspaper clipping with illustration of a Victorian style commercial building which stood at the northeast corner of Encinal and High Streets and was subsequently demolished in 1950 for construction of the present Encinal Market. The illustration appeared in the Alameda Times Star Tuesday, August 8, 1950. Object was given to the Alameda Historical Society prior to 1971.
