A. gathered with a metal clip. 66 main ones and numerous detail drawings. Marked with contractor 'Fred J. Early', architect Harry A. Bruno, electrical contractor Scott Buttner; mechanical contractor MacNSons, consulting engineers Thos. Chace & C. E. Bentley. Dock contractor Ben F. Gerwick Inc. Officer in charge of construction: Ambrose B. Brown, lieut. comm. U.S.C.G.R. B. Similar to A, but includes additional buildings, such as the night vision class, and further details. B is rolled up. Sizes: various, but most L 24" x W 36" History of Object: sets of blueprints for the U.S. Maritime Service Officers School, 620 Central Ave. and McKay Ave., which was established on the property of the former Neptune Beach, also known as the 'Merchant Marines'. These mariners were the officers manning the supply chain ships for WWII, but at the time they were officially a civilian group. This was one of two officer's training center in the country. Veteran mariners would only get veteran status in 1988. Architect Harry A. Bruno graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1932 and this was likely his first large commission.
