Reverse side pierced for hanging. Size, 5 1/4 inches in length, 1 3/4 inches in depth. History of Object: Advertising match box (hanging) from the Koerber Fuel & Feed Co., 2314 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, Calif. Following information from George F. Koerber, D.D.S (great grandson of George William Koerber): George William Koerber, German immigrant, walked across Isthmus of Panama in 1852. Started business in Alameda in 1870 after failure of business in San Jose. Died in 1904 of old age and living to high. Acquired from: Reggie the Eagle George F. Koerber, D.D.S. Date: 12-17-83
