No. 82.23.5 Subject Category: Household wares, kitchen Date or period: Circa 1909 Object: Lantern, kerosene Description: Railroad type kerosene lantern, with clear glass chimneys, bail handle, and flanged base oil font. The font is impressed with the wording "Paull's", and the metal chimney cover with patent dates, the last being June 30th, 1909. The metal lantern frame has its original red paint. Size: 19½ inches, from font to extended bail handle, und 7 inches across base of oil font. History of Object: Found while clearing out the estate of Mrs. Ella King, 2153 San Jose Avenue, Alameda. The family (King) had occupied the home as early as 1920. Acquired from: Bert W. King (son of Ella King) Date: June 5, 1982
