No. 23.8.1 Subject Category: Object/Artifact - Ceramic Date or Period: Late 1800s Object: German ceramic water container Description: A tall, thin ceramic container for water with tan color glazing and a handle near the top opening. Several things are stamped into the clay: a logo with “NEDERSELTERS NASSAU” at the perimeter and a bird in the center, “KÖNIGLICH PREUSSISCHE BRUNNEN-VERWALTUNG” under the logo, and ‘No.’ (for numero) and “Num. 56” under the handle. It has chips along base and a hairline crack running from the largest chip all the way to the top. Also has a crack near the top of the handle. Size: L-12” x 3.5” diameter. History of Object: a jar found in the garden of the location of the now disappeared Harmony Hall, donated after the donor passed by the house now on the property while guiding a walking tour.
