Description: Book bound in brown and beige buckram. On front cover of book is title "Germany, The Olympic Year 1936." Inside the fly leaf has the message hand written in blue-leaded pencil: To my Best Friend Fred Cleh - Otto Rittler. Then in black-leaded pencil, in the same handwriting: Birthday Dinner Jan. Birthday Jan. 31 st 1977, Elks Lodge. Stamped in upper right corner: Hotel "Deutscher Kaiser". Berlin. Card inserted identifies book as being presented by the Foreign Department to all tourists in remembrance of their visit to Germany at that time. Fitle page repeats front cover information and adds name of publisher Volk und Reich Verlag Berlin. The book is composed mostly of black and white photographs. Unnumbered pages.
History of Object: Book acquired by Rittler on his trip to Germany in 1936 for the Olympics Games and later given to a friend in 1977.
