ACC. NO. 83.50.8 SUBJECT CATEGORY: Churches, Methodist, West End DATE OR PERIOD: c. 1929 OBJECT: Window, church DESCRIPTION: Lancet window with Gothic tracery. Predominant colors are amber, blue and white. Has ruby glass center medallion etched with motto: "Look Up Lift Up E.L." (E.L. = Epsworth League). Green paint on exterior side; interior side is natural wood varnished. Size: 77" x 18". HISTORY OF OBJECT: Removed from the West End Methodist Church, Eighth and Santa Clara Avenue, which was erected in 1929 and was destroyed by fire in 1971. (West End Methodist Church was founded in 1885.) After loss of church from fire, it was decided not to rebuild and to merge with Twin Towers Methodist Church.
