History of Objects:
Brackets salvaged from 1807 Santa Clara after a fire. The house was erected in 1891 for George W. Shreve, San Francisco gun dealer, by Alameda resident A. W. Pattiani & Company at a cost of $3,500. The donor salvaged the brackets but then found he could not use them. The house was demolished March 1982, and the house currently there was moved from 1408 Park Ave. on April 20, 1982 to make place for expansion of the then First National Bank.
