Acc. No. 81.158.1 A & B Subject Category: Schools (Wilson) Date or period: 1892 Object: Microscope and Case Description: Microscope (A) is brass gold-plated on a tripod. On one leg of the tripod is engraved "Wilson School Alameda, California Mrs. Cyrus Wilson, March, 1892". Manufactured by: Bausch & Lomb, Optical Co. Last patented October 13, 1885. Storage cabinet (B) has a hinged door. Top left side has a drawer. Three tiers of perforated wood for holding different sizes lenses. The case is constructed of maple, and has an iron carrying grip, and the case can be locked. Size: 14" high. History of Object: It was presented to the Wilson School by Mrs. Cyrus Wilson in March, 1892. She was the wife of Mr. Wilson. The school was named in his honor. In 1911 it was renamed Lincoln School.
