Description: A bent wood backed, oak chair. The splats are turned on a lathe. It has the original gray paint finish.
Size: 21" high, 10%" seat that is beveled.
History of Object: This child's chair was made by the Bennett Furniture Manufacturing Company. The first furniture store in Alameda, about 1870. The store was located on Encinal Avenue, near Park Street. The chair was given to Leon Koenigshofer when he was six years old.

DONATED TO ALAMEDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY BY HIS NIECE MRS.A.D. BROOKS. 806 GRAND ST. APRIL 1956. THIS STORE WAS ON ENCINAL AVE, NEAR PARK STREET.
