History of Object: three editions of the iconic book listing all buildings from the early period in Alameda (1854-1904) that had survived at the time of writing. C is an updated version of A/B. George Gunn was curator of the Alameda Historical Museum for 50 years, with an additional few years when he was not the sole responsible person. The research was prompted by museum visitors who wanted to know more about their house. The information was painstakingly gathered by walks, searches through the early Assessment books, and other sources. The book was (is at time of this entry) available from the Alameda Museum Gift Store.
