No. 21.128.32 Subject Category: Citizens of Alameda Date or Period: c. 1936-1952 Object: pocket scout knife Description: 3-blade pocket knife with jigged black plastic imitation bone handle, carbon steel spear point main blade, combo cap-lifter and slot screwdriver, and carbon steel old style can opener, and nickel silver ornamental shield stating 'Scout'. Ends are rounded metal; one edge is missing. On main blade is engraved, in straight type: 'Imperial', and underneath, 'Prov. R.I.'. Missing is a loop for attaching a cord (the holes where this was attached are visible). Size (folded): L 3 1/2" History of Object: 3 blade 'scout' pocket knife of the Martin family. Although it does not have the 'GS' shield, the knife may have been owned by Shirley Martin, who was a girl scout.
