Description: A heart-shaped gold and enameled plated medal. The medal is supported by a bar pin with a purple silk faille ribbon. The medal is contained in its original black oblong shaped presentation box. The exterior of this box is made of imitation black colored leather with an incised gold design and caption" Purple Heart". The central figure on the medal is a profile of George Washington.
