Size: L-3 1/2” x W-4 1/2” History of Object: (A) Acknowledgement card from the bereaved Mrs. William McKinley dated September, 1901, sent to student Neill Wilson of Alameda, in gratitude for his expression of sympathy. A hand-written note on the verso states: "Aunt Margaret sent Mrs. McKinley a copy of my 'McKinley poem'; Mrs. McKinley sent her this card in return. Neill C. Wilson.". (B) A hand-written letter in sepia-colored ink. This letter is a poem written by Neill Wilson in memory of the martyred President, William McKinley, dated September 18, 1901.
