Subject- shoreline with wildflowers and cypress trees with background of a sunset (in soft pastel shades, unlike artist’s works). Lower right hand corner signed "Siefried". Size: 37½x27½ inches. History of Object: Pastel landscape by noted Alameda artist Edwin Siegfried, (one of 9 children of pioneer Alameda resident, John C. Siegfried, tea importer with offices in San Francisco) who was raised in the family home at 2044 Alameda Avenue (still standing 1982). Siegfried is noted for his Alameda marsh scenes with vivid colored sunsets. Acquired from: Lucile and Andrew Graham Date: July 24, 1982 Note-reframed a double matted (silver frame)
