No. 13.1.40 (A-C) Subject Category: Household, furniture Date or Period: c. 1880's Object: Chairs (set of 3) Description: Kitchen chairs with an ebonized finish, accented by red color pinstripes. The chair crests appear to be steam bowed and they serve as cut-out hand grips. The seats are of a perforated plywood and are secured by round-headed tacks. The rungs, legs and back spindles are lathe turned. American made. Size: H-33 1/3 x D-17 x W-18 inches each. History of Object: Kitchen chairs formerly owned by Sophia May, which she brought to the Meyers House when she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law. Originally in 1994 on loan from Mr. & Mrs. Kennedy, cousins of the Meyers family, the objects were later added to the collection. Acquired from: Meyers estate Date: 01/10/13
