Description: Rectangular shaped canvas hatch cover with black (color) stenciled message "Forward," "Top" & "Star of Alask (a left out), S.F." The hem contains a series of metal rimmed circular openings with the original hemp ropes for securing.

History of Object: Canvas hatch cover from the Alaska Packers ship "Star of Alaska." It was obtained by the donor in 1932.
