Walnut construction with top rail & vertical splat accentuated with burl walnut panels. Arms attached to elliptical shaped seat. Front legs & stretchers turned. Seat (originally caned) now covered with needle point fabric (made by the donor). Size: H-33 inches, seat D-16 1/2 x W-18 inches. History of Object: Cottage chair from the Koerber family, 2115 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda. The Koerbers were early residents of the city and owned & operated a coal yard here. It was located on Santa Clara Avenue, between Oak & Park Streets. The donor's family were longtime friends of the Koerbers.
