Folder tab has a green label with typed caption: ‘Rent Control, July 1946’. L 14 3/4” x W 9" History of Object: Folder found in the attic of City Hall in the 1990s. Documents and paper clippings in this folder mostly pertain to Rent Control, in particular because of rent hikes for long-term renters at the Hotel Alameda. Some miscellaneous documents have been added: Meeting announcement and agenda from the Board of Equalization about Bethlehem Steel Company, 1947 (may have been used as scratch paper to make calculations); two 1943 receipts for maintenance work done on the Webb Ave Fire House by Comisa Bros. Roofing Co., 1901 Broadway, and by P. Royal Haulman, 1243 Broadway; c. 1938/1939 pamphlet published by the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, titled ‘California and Exposition Trip Planner including the Metropolitan Oakland Area, Treasure Island’s Mainland’.
