History of Object:
Correspondence relating to free telephones and service provided by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph for the business of the City, and the installation of an answering device and switchboard at City Hall. The latter is now in the museum collection (81.104.1). Includes a newspaper clipping featuring the switchboard. Featured officials: Carl Froerer, City Manager, B. H. Maynard, City Engineer. Also includes a 1952 map of Exchange Area boundaries.
