No. 24.11.1 Subject Category: Sports, Golf; Citizens of Alameda Date or Period: 1970 Object: plaque with names Description: a particle-board plaque with mahogany veneer and metal plate at top stating: ‘Alameda Golf Club Honorary Life Members’, and 18 individual name plates each screwed onto the board with 2 screws, with gold engraved lettering. Some have been manually traced with a gold pen. Size: L 15” x W 12” History of Object: plaque from the restaurant at the Alameda Golf course, where this was in a display case for many years, until new owners needed to modernize the space. Names on the plaque reflect men who were given Honorary Membership status to the Golf Course, such as former mayor Chuck Corica, Ron Ratto, Jerry Lanzit.
