History of Object: Framed black & white print depicting the Liberty Ship "George Middlemas", launched at Richmond Shipyard (Calif), 1944. It was named in honor of George Middlemas, noted ship designer and builder, ca. 1852-1900, who moved from S.F. to Alameda in 1892. He lived at 2112 Santa Clara Avenue.
