History of Object: Book entitled "Cowardice Court" by George Barr McCutcheon and illustrated by the noted artist Harrison Fisher. Fisher was born in NY and was brought to Alameda as a child and attended local schools. His father, Hugh Antone Fisher was also a noted artist and died in Alameda. Harrison returned to NY where he became a prominent illustrator of the period.
