Description: Brown expanding file folder, filled with documents, with a tan label stamped “62”, although imprint at first appears to look like ‘C2’. Documents are marked on the back by hand with ‘62’ and a sequence number. Some documents are stamped with ‘Received’ or ‘Filed’ and a date.

History of Object: Expanding Folder, found in the attic of City Hall prior to renovations in the 1990s. Documents in this ‘Pouch’ pertain to permits, predominantly to sell soft drinks, with many interesting business addresses, including a refusal for permit to the owner of the ‘Sugar-Bowl’ because of arrests (62-92), and violations of the Wright Act (62-92); protests against a yearly dyers and cleaners fee (62-126/127); and a letter from the Unemployed Citizens League, 1217 Lincoln Ave, about permit for a Skating Rink (62-129), and plans to increase license fee for quack doctors (62-1)
