Description: Pair of spectacles (A) in original case (B). Spectacles have a frame of -likely- silver, broad slide temples with loops ending, octagonal frames with blue glass, an extra set of glasses attached with hinges. The bridge is a crank style bridge. The case has engraved top with pattern of diamonds, with central cartouche, and engraved on closing side, 'Pat. Jan 24, 1860, C. Parker.
Size (container): L 4 1/2" x W 1 1/2"
History of Object: pair of Parker sunglasses from the Charles Parker Company, in patented tin case, passed on through generations of the Martin or Martin-Dixon family. This type of glasses could provide extra protection from sunlight, or could provide protection from the side.
