History of Object: Folder with documents found in the attic of City Hall in the 1990s. This folder hold correspondence regarding promoting the City of Alameda, and marketing and advertising for same. Includes correspondence with Mayor Frank Otis, City Auditor Fred Croll, City Managers Clifton E. Hickok, Neil Pierson, and Ralph M. Bryant, City Clerks W.E. Varcoe and D. Elmer Dyer; correspondence from local organizations such as the Native Sons of the Golden West, Ida Elliget for the Alameda Mid Summer Flora Society, Chamber of Commerce, Real Estate Agents, the Alameda Improvement Club, Alameda Gladiolus Show Association, Business and Professional Women's Club, Alameda Airport Inc, Eagles Club, Young Ladies Institute (with program, #99-73), Alameda Boat Club (etc. Payments were made for floats, banners, uniforms for the Junior Traffic police; advertisements, performers or managers for the May Spring Festivals in Lincoln Park; lights along Park Street; Fleet Day, Harbor Day, Christmas celebration; a flyer for Neptune Beach (#99-104), a Tennis Club tournament; Dahlia Show, air races; regatta, opening of the Posey Tube, visit of Faye Lanphier, Miss California, to Atlantic City (1925, #99-6), etc. Acquired from: City of Alameda Cataloged: April 24, 2012
