Description: Oblong strips of tin, and the message is hand written, Both mounted on one board.
Size: (each) 22 in. by 24 in.
History of Object: These two signs were on the doors of the old Southern Pacific Station, Park and Lincoln Avenue. The station was built about 1880. It was about 100 feet long and 50 feet wide. It was tom down in 1958. The S.P. issued overland tickets and handled all freight sent to Alameda.
The Alameda Historical Society wanted to move this building to Jackson Park, but was turned down by the City Council. It would have made a fine museum building.
