Description: Marble (variegated black & grey on umber & reddish brown background) ball, which rests on a marble base (composed of 3 parts). Upper (grey & black variegated marble) with indentation rest- size 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches. Second level (grey & black variegated marble) size 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches. Base (white marble) size 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
History of Object:
Ornamental marble ball on stand, which always sat on the mantle shelf of the Abram Rich family home, 1620 4th Street, Alameda, Ca. The Riches were early pioneers of the West End.
