Description: Brown expanding file folder with a tan label stamped “74”. Documents therein are marked on the back by hand with ‘74’ and a sequence number, or stamped ‘Pouch No File No’ with ‘74’ and a sequence number. Some documents are stamped with ‘Received’ or ‘Filed’ and a date. Documents have varying sizes and some are glued together, and/or gathered with staples and/or brads, some with a backing of light blue construction paper.

History of Object: Expanding Folder, found in the attic of City Hall prior to renovations in the 1990s. Documents in this ‘Pouch’ pertain to the Board of Utilities, including transfer of assets to the Electric Light Plant to the Great Western Power Company, and reinstating of a municipal electricity company; transfer of ownership of the Alameda Belt Line to be shared by the Santa Fe, Western Pacific, and Southern Pacific Railroads (74-18: Report includes history of the Belt Line; 74-33: Brief regarding the Belt Line by City Attorney Wm. J. Locke; 74-40 Agreement). Documents include assignment of members of the Board of Public Utilities (e.g. Hermann Krusi, e.g. 1927, 74-46); and various miscellaneous matters, such as Christmas lights for Park Street (74-87); Key System Transit Co. changes (e.g. 74-83); contract with Carl Werner, architect, to design a Public Utility Building (between 74-49 and 74-48).
