Description: A machine-carved rocking chair that appears to be made of oak with a dark finish. The back of the rocker has a gallery of lathe-turned spindles that are repeated on supports to the projecting chair arms. The seat and backrest are upholstered in what appears to be hand done floral needlepoint work.

History of Object: A parlor rocker that belonged to Giovanni Zanaria and family who in 1917 purchased their residence at 1810 Taylor Street. This residence remained in the family until 2015; the date of actual construction is unclear but it is known to have been standing as early as 1896.
